To create a lower sugar cake option, we use Non-GMO Xylitol as the sugar replacement for the cake sponge. Xylitol is a plant-based sweetener derived from the fibrous parts of birch trees. After many years of experimentation, our team selected this ingredient because it provides pleasant sweetness while reducing overall sugar content.

Furthermore, Xylitol occurs naturally and has a sweetness level similar to regular sugar. Importantly, it also has a low glycemic index of 7 and contains 40% fewer calories than sugar. For this reason, it is commonly used as a lower-calorie alternative sweetener.

However, it is important to note that all of our low sugar cakes are made with standard buttercream and toppings, which still contain sugar. Therefore, we are unable to provide medical advice or confirm whether this cake is suitable for individuals with diabetes.

Finally, each cake is handcrafted in Melbourne using premium ingredients and baked fresh to order. In addition, it is available in multiple sizes, making it a beautiful centrepiece for your next celebration.
